This new rig is amazingly simple, yet suitable for serious production in the largest HD regular format.
When used with our uncompressed video processing  hardware, we can save the 3D outside the limits of the
"too compressed" HDV recording format. The resulting files can then be given mild comprssion prior to compositing.
In effect, the HDMI link from the camera section to a  computer, eliminates most of the weaknesses of HDV.
The electronic interface is the "Intensity" capture card, from Black Magic Design of Milpitas, CA, this is combined with an compact
high performance computer, equipped with a powerful CPU chipset, motherboard memory and multi drive RAID array. The tower is mounted on a dolly, along with

How can it be so simple?

First of all , the wide 16 x 9 1080p, or 108i  wide format allows you to shoot in dead parallel, and overlay the main 3D subject  in post.


Secondly, the fail safe, simple visual sync flapper,  allows you to get  frame accurate sync without  a gen-lock device .

The time code be slipped, to acheive  dead sync for up to several minute takes, as modern HD technology is the very essense of
accuracy. The rig mounts a directional microphone on a cold shoe at the top of a right hand handle. The "Flapper" is mounted on
the center carry handle. A two XLR Beachtek ® sound control box may be mounted below, with a quick release to a Bogan or similar "fluid" pan head. A good directional microphone such as the Sennheizer we use can make a huge difference in sound clarity.

The basis  camera mount rig is just $199. Not including cameras, microphone, riser, panhead, the capturing HDMI linked recording computer or Beachtek sound control box.

NASA's  S.T.E.R.E.O.  mission launched in late October is going well!

As of  April 22, 2007 all is going well. The two observatories are now in position for stereo monitoring of the sun. 3D pictures on the 23rd. !

The sun itself has become extremely active, contrary to it's normal cycle.
In recent days activity has been extreme...even dangerous for orbiting astronauts.
The sun needs to be closely watched, and luckily the 3D observatories will be
on the job. Hopefully the 3D images will be worth seeing for the layperson!

One of the observatory vehicles will lead the earth, and one will follow  as the earth and these vehicles
orbit the sun. Over time, they will become further and further apart. In the begining the stereo effect
will be minimal, but in time it should produce some impressive images as the distance between our
orbiting "eyes" increases. There will be a period of two or three months before the images will
show the 3D effect plainly. In the meantime we will provide any diagrams, models, or computer
inhanced images that may come from NASA. 

Hopefully many images will come from NASA over the next two years.

Sony has won the shoot-off! There will be only one standard for Blue-light 1080P HD disks!
On February 19th, 2008, Toshiba tossed in the towel.

Taking into consideration, that millions of people now have 1080P wide-screen monitors for both their TV viewing , &  recently for computer use, as well, we

RED RAY DVD recording disks...
that will be played on the red-ray section of the Blu-Ray© machines!

WE ARE FINALLY SPEAKING OUT ABOUT VIDEO GAMES IN 3D  ANACHROME

This is not a stereo pair...only the RIGHT image is 3D...Use anaglyph glasses.

We've  finally elected to speak up about the bogus (primitive) STONE AGE way Nvidea  chooses to display video games in 3D anaglyph.
This is a mock up conversion showing the lack of ghosting when the images are properly displayed & viewed with Anachrome glasses!

 1. Just the simple left hand grip for hand held single camera moveovers.

2. A slider mount fits on the handle so you can shift the camera without moving your external flash unit, which fits on the top
of the handle. This avoids strange multiple shadows, that spoil flash 3D move-overs.

3. Mounting the camera with a Loreo lens and the left handgrip to assure level shooting.

4. Mounting two cameras, in vertical format, which gets the lenses close together.

5. Mounting two SLRs side by side with the handle on the left, for great 3D scenics. Any of the combinations, will mount on a tripod.
